Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between the quality of friendship and emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior in children. The subjects in this study were students of class V and class VI elementary school. This study uses the technique of population studies. Measuring tool used to obtain the data are scaled quality companionship, emotional intelligence scale and the scale of aggressive behavior.
The results of data analysis using regression analysis in which the calculations using the computer program SPSS 15.0 for windows. Obtained the correlation coefficient of the three variables rx 1,2y at 0.177 with p equal to 0.290 (p <0.05), this means there is no significant relationship between the quality of friendship and emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior in children, thus major hypothesis proposed in the research this is not acceptable.
The correlation coefficient between the variable quality of friendship with aggressive behavior rx1 y of 0.170 with p equal to 0.064 (p> 0.05) this means there is no significant negative correlation between the quality of friendship with aggressive behavior in children, so the hypothesis proposed in this study did not accepted. While the correlation coefficient between the variables of emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior rx2y of 0.066 with p equal to 0.280 (p> 0.05) this means there is no significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior in children, so the hypothesis proposed in this study did not accepted. The lack of correlation between the quality of friendship and emotional intelligence in children with aggressive behavior signaled a lack of effective contribution. This suggests that the quality of the friendship and emotional intelligence is not a factor that affects the child's aggressive behavior.
